The Allies would take their last VPs by securing the medals in the forest. Final score was 4-3 Jeff (round 1) / 4-1 Jeff (round 2)

The losses were heavy on the Allied side, but spread between multiple units.

These German troops were content to take potshots from their flanking position

The taking of the cliffs proved to be unrecoverable, as the Allied special forces pushed into Allied lines and drove them out of their defensive positions.

Jeff started with two "Assault Center" cards in his opening hand, which let him move 6 troops in the first two turns, taking the cliffs on turn 2.

The first game was a narrow 4-3 win for Jeff playing the Germans. Jay has his go.

Things are looking grim for the Axis side. The Allied player has 1 medal (out of 4), and have nearly destroyed a second unit in the far bunker. The right flank is close to being overrun. But note the Air Power card, which would win the game for the Germans.

The sandbags also give a defensive bonus, but are removed from play if the defending unit leaves the hex. All of the German troops in this mission are well-defended.

These German troops are in a bunker, which gives a defensive bonus, and surrounded by barbed wire, which is hard for attacking troops to traverse.
